17 Days and Counting!!!

so this week was fairly good one of the moms of a few members has decided she would like to get baptized so we are helping her prepare for the 27th of December her name is Roxana. she has been coming to church. the problem before is that she was not married but that is no longer an interference so she is now good to go. we have been talking to a lot of people this week with not too much luck, there can always be more. in other news i finished the bible this morning, good book, i would give it a 10 over 10 and recommend for everyone to read it. especially in Spanish O.o
still here in Calderon in Guayaquil with Elder Gibby and looks like this is how it all may end. love you all and may the force be with you all
Elder McCammon

Not much time left, but it seems he's still working hard.  Sad no pictures this week.  Getting excited to see him.

3 Weeks to Go and Still Working Hard

So my week was great. Arturo and Dominica were baptized and i have almost finished the bible i have only 150 pages left i have finish 2nd Corinthians so that is pretty exciting. right now we are not teaching to many investigators but there are lest active families we are teaching like the f. Gomez, f. Miranda, f. Cholota, and f. Castillo. so be praying for them that they can become active in the church. and that they can see the difference the church does bring to ones life. also pray that we can be finding more people love you all and have a great week.
Love to you all,
Elder McCammon

Changes are in the air

So my companion was transferred after only a little over a week, not sure why.  My new companion is 5 months in the mission and he is Elder Gibby from Blackfoot.  We are getting along good.
This week was okay, no baptisms but Arturo and Domenica are going to be baptized this Saturday so that is good. sadly they were the only two that came  to church this week. but there are still a few other people with church attendances that we may be able to get in the water before my time here is through. Tanya it does not look like she will be getting baptized anytime soon, she is not following up on her commitments and has the hardest time coming to church, so we are going to leave her for a little while and let the seed grow in her heart that has been planted.
this week has been great, had a great birthday, we will see if we go to the mall today. thanks to everybody for the birthday wishes.
love Elder McCammon

He said he didn't have pictures to send me, but a friend in my ward has a friend who's daughter is in Jesse's mission and zone right now and she forwarded this picture to me, so another bonus!!!

Bonus Birthday Post!

I know that Jesse is happy and content as a missionary and he doesn't really require much, he never has really.  But...as a mom its nice to see someone else taking care of something you can't do. I know as a missionary they don't really think too much about the celebration, their purpose is at a different level.  But I am sure its still nice to be thought about! A member was nice enough to throw a little party for Jesse and the bonus is he was nice enough to post those pictures on facebook so that I could see them!!!  Also, I got to see pictures of his new companion!!!  Here are some highlights from his evening!!!   Thanks again to Ever Junnyor Cruz Sanchez!!!

 Cute Family!
 Blowing the candles
Let them eat Cake!!!
He hasn't had his nose in a cake since he was one!!!  I think this must be a tradition here!
Hmmm...anyone want a piece of cake I just had my face in!?!?

Love seeing this kids face!!!  What a wonderful experience a mission is, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and enjoy the lives and culture of different people.  How fun to learn and grow in so many ways.

Happy Birthday Elder McCammon

So Wednesday Elder Evershed had changes, he ended up going to the Galapagos . Thought luck for me. I was hoping i could get to go in his stead. (When Jesse found out that the Galapagos were in his mission before he left he was hoping he would get to go.  Too bad.) so most of  Wednesday i was in the office or i was in the airport. so i know the place pretty well now for when i get to come home. lols. Not trunky or anything.
Tanya finally accepted a baptismal date for the 6th of december so lets hope i am here for that. Arturo we are hoping will be able to get baptised this week. it would have to be sunday after church because he did not come to church this sunday and he still needs one more church attendance before he can get baptized. And then there is a girl who just turned nine whos parents are inactive and her grandparents are ex temple workers. they told us to visit the family and she is no going to prepare for baptism for the 23rd of november. her name is domenica. so i hope this week we can find more people and have more baptisms. pray for me and my new comp that all goes well.
I also finished the Old Testament and have made it through Matthew!  Also I think some of the members are doing something for my birthday tonight.

Blogger doesn't seem to be accepting my comments. Lara Duzett email me at billtam1@cableone.net

This was a happy birthday card from a member, Karen Sud, from one of Jesse's old areas she posted it on face book.
Elder Evershed was sick and so some of the members brought them Pizza.  He looks so good! Can't wait for that hug!!!

Sick Companion = not much work

so this was an okay week.

I know the lord loves this work and nothing can stop it. This week we were stuck in the house from Thursday because my comp was really sick and we could not leave until Saturday in the night. and Wednesday we were in a training with President Torres all day. so we did not have the ability to put in too much work this week but all the same we had some people in church. Michael came, we are still trying to work with his mom to give him permission to be baptized, but it is difficult. Arturo Canales also came to church, he is preparing to be baptized on the 15th of November... next week. lots of prayers for him. also Patricia Loor came, Ronald's mom, please keep praying that she will be able to get married soon. lets hope that this is a big week of success love you all and have a great week.

Elder Jesse

In my chatting he told me that the Carls Jr. was delicious.  It's also Jesse's birthday next Monday send him just a quick Happy Birthday email if you get the chance, because I didn't send a package for it.  I sent him one a little while ago and put a few things in it for his birthday, but it was way early.  He wanted curry and cookie dough (I sent the dry mix)...I asked if he'd had a chance to make any of it yet.  He said he didn't want the cookies just the dough and it was delicious!!!  The curry he was hoping to make this week, maybe he'll do it for his birthday.  They don't celebrate Halloween or anything of the sort, so they didn't have to worry about that.  The pictures I got were pictures that he had to send to the mission office...I am not sure how they live, maybe they are moving and he didn't say, not sure, but the apartment, aside from their rooms and where they study...its empty!!!  Not even toilet paper or a shower curtain in the bathroom!!!

 Ah...Once an Aggie...always an Aggie!!!!

Oct 27th Late Post

so this was an alright week Arturo and his mom finally came to church and it looks like they liked it and they are here to stay. so he will be preparing for baptism on the 15th of December. Micheal's mom still has not softened her heart so we are thinking what to do about that. the bishopric has started visiting Ronald's mom and dad so we are going to follow up with that today to see what happens. the other people we have been teaching did not come to church this Sunday so we are going to do some verifying this week and see how everyone is in there progression and their desires. so we can use time to find other people as well.

love you all have a great week.
Elder Jesse

Pictures:
Hilarious...Jesse said they went to try out the new Carls Jr. to see if it tastes like home...he never did say how it tastes...maybe the thumbs up is an indication!!!
This is actually a picture from when he was in Loja...he said he found it on his camera and doesn't think he sent it...not sure what it is though...he didn't specify!!!  Looks like a cob of corn though.
